With eight days of work on the Seven Summits trail already, we’ve covered all but the section between Mt Plewman and Gibbards Junction (soon). Other than a few small sections of snow to portage, the trail is in fantastic condition. The past two days we’ve seen groups heading out to ride the whole trail, so [...]

Mt Roberts
In anticipation of the annual Canada Day flag raising ceremony on Mt Roberts, we’ve done some clean-up work on the trail. It’s a less defined and more rough trail than others in our network, and not at all suitable for biking, but provides a spectacular perspective on Rossland.

Seven Summits Trail.
I’m getting constant enquiries as to when the Seven Summits trail will be ready to ride. While there is still some snow on the northern aspects and on the highest ridgelines, a crew of riders did make it from the southern end to the Old Glory trail yesterday, so I’m sure it won’t be long. [...]

New Oasis Section Ready
The new lower section to the Oasis trail is now ready to ride. I rode it on the Thursday night shuttle last night, and it seemed to flow pretty well, getting the thumbs up from the riders. We’ve kept the angle as moderate as we could, given the terrain, in the hope that the sand [...]

Changes on Milky Way
We received feedback that the jump on the lower section of Milky Way was an issue for some riders, so it’s been moved. The sightlines on the approach are better, and there’s now a smooth transition to aim for on the landing. While in the area we also dealt with what was a tight and [...]

Volunteers on KC Ridge
Thanks to Patrick Kinghorn and his organizing energy, the 30 or so volunteers that showed up, and our supporters at the Grind and Revolution, the 3rd annual trails day was a great succcess. It’s amazing how much can be accomplished in a short time with such enthusiastic workers. We took the top section of KC [...]

Oasis Re-route
Following from an Open House with the residents of Oasis, and in consideration of the issues they’re having increased mountain biking traffic on the Oasis trail, we’re going to re-route the bottom section of the trail. Dave Hope showed us this spectacular feature, a ridgeline above Hanna Creek, where I’ve been flagging a route for [...]
